2013 Art Auction
Thanks to the generosity of artists who donated artwork, our 2013 auction raised $32,000. Our auctioneer, sculptor George Lundeen, was great at engaging the audience and making the evening fun and exciting for everyone. Approximately 200 people enjoyed refreshments under the stars while bidding on bronze sculptures created by Josh Tobey, James Moore, George Walbye, Herb Mignery, Jane DeDekker, George Lundeen, Cammie Lundeen and others. Santa Fe artist, Rebecca Tobey donated a beautiful one of a kind ceramic that some lucky bidder took home.
Original paintings in the auction were donated by many artists, including Sallie K. Smith, Tamara Simmons, David Harms, Nathan Solano, Cydney Springer, Rick Stoner, Cathy Goodale, James Biggers and Dave Santillanes.
Last year the Charitable Fund paid nearly $60,000 in medical/dental bills for artists who needed assistance. The annual art auction is our only fundraiser -- looks like we need to bring in even more at next year's auction so as to keep up with requests from artists who need financial assistance to pay medical/dental bills. No worry - all working together, we can do it. I'd like to thank all of the artists who donated, the volunteers who gave so much of their time and energy and the bidders who made the auction a success.
